‘Kord’ - Frog
In the 18th century, frog-shaped adornments were very popular, specially amongst newlyweds and pregnant women. The tiny and numerous granules symbolized the frog’s eggs and were associated with women’s fertility.
In order to ward off diseases, people caught frogs and made amulets out of them and offered them to pregnant women.
This little frog is designed as a contemporary amulet and charm pendant offering its wearer 7 wishes (pearl eggs), for prosperity and abundance.
Each pendant is an artisanal hand finished piece, with a slightly hammered and textured finish, in 18k gold plated brass and pearls.
